The Mission of the Carolina Beach Police Department is to provide service to the public. We are dedicated to responding to the needs of our citizens, residents, and visitors by continually evolving to maintain the highest standards of policing. Our mission is accomplished through services provided by our dedicated staff in conjunction with strong community participation and support. Our organizational philosophy is “Commitment to Professionalism.” Members of the Carolina Beach Police Department are tasked with the authority and responsibility to complete assignments at the frontline level.
The Carolina Beach Police Department is comprised of 28 full time officers and 10 part time officers along with a full time Administrative Assistant and Records Specialist. All officers regardless of full time or part time status must complete 602 hours of Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET). A minimum of 24 hours of in-service training is required annually in addition to training throughout the year. Our department is more than just patrol and investigations we have several specialized fields including the K-9 unit, school resource officer, bike patrol, gang task force, harbor master and marine patrol.
Our staff members are encouraged to use both traditional and more contemporary methods in order to address the external and internal issues and concerns focusing on relationship building and crime prevention. Each and every day the members of the Carolina Beach Police Department are committed to providing outstanding service to citizens and making the Town of Carolina Beach a safe and vibrant community.
